New CD in the works!
So August is almost upon us and is also the month that I begin the recording process for my new CD (and first original project!)! The disc will featue Reinhardt Melz (drms), Ramsey Embick (pno) and Chris Mosley (gtr) and all original music written by yours truly. Much different from my last outing and we’re all very excited about the music… Hoping to have this project pressed and available by the end of the summer! Keep an eye out for it and keep an eye out for us live next summer as I plan on trying to take this show on the road.. these guys are killing!
Ashland, OR this weekend
ON the 24th of July (Friday) I’ll be driving down to Ashland to play at the Mystical Garden Party Festival with Alice DiMicele, Jeff Pevar and a host of other folks. I just love Ashland and equally love the folks there and am looking forward to a great weekend in Southern Oregon!
Next weekend it’s off to ID, MT & WY with Intervision. Any peeps (or tweeps?) in the area should definitely give me a shout. I’d love to see ya’!
Seattle peeps
Just a heads for my WA friends! I’ll be in Ephrata,WA playing with Intervision on Friday and Patrick Lamb on Saturday for the Basin Summer Sounds downtown festival. Sunday I have 2 shows in Seattle with Intervision! First playing the Bite of Seattle finishing off the night at Tost. Check the calendar for times & maps!

Personalized VIDEO LESSONS
I’ve decided to start offering private and personalized video lessons to interested players.. Partially meant to help some folks and be used as an addendum to my instructional booklet, but also as a means of connecting with other players around the world that I just physically can’t connect with in person. While I’ve done some teaching via Skype, it seems a tad clunky to me. I believe that this may be the answer! I am also always happy to follow up with further lessons of course, or answer any questinos via email or the social networking site of your choice…
Here’s the skinny:
- you give me a rough sketch (as detailed as you care to be) of the topics you’d like me to cover
- I’ll make an hour or longer video covering the topics
- in addition to a password protected streaming video of the lesson on my website I will also send a link to download the video to your computer for your own keeping and reference.
- pricing:
$75 via paypal or check for the streaming/full download option
$80 for the streaming video + a cd-r mailed to you via snail-mail.

Home sweet home
It’s been a wonderful and extremely hot few weeks in Texas with Kate Schutt, Anthony Jones at Kat Edmonsons amazing band! But I am very much looking forward to the perfect Portland climate again, I must say…
I will be keeping quite busy playing with Intervision, Alice DiMecele, Bobby Torres & lots of other Portland folk (including a Drew Shoals Collective reunion celebrating his return to PDX for the summer!). Check the calendar & I hope to see you at the gig!
